Tigers Jaw. Sorority Noise. I love Brand New as a band and always will. However, I won't be seeing them live again and that's not just because of their anticipated disbanding date. I thought their set was a little depressing back in at Summerfest and now 2 years later it has only gotten more depressing.

The only song played off of Your Favorite Weapon was No Seatbelt Song and before he even played it he admitted to it being a horribly sad song. During the 90 minute set I want to say that there was at least 15 minutes of just filler noise where they were jamming or just letting the feedback ring through the audience.

Then the ending was was very anticlimactic. There was no "this is our last song" warning; just about 5 minutes of an extended outro to Jesus I think if I remember correctly; as I mentioned we were not warned it was the last song so I wasn't keeping track followed by Jesse saying hope you have a good night and walking off stage.

There wasn't even a hope at an encore. The other band members shortly followed and the roadies started packing up.

It's clear they are just doing this because they have to and they aren't really into performing anymore; or this could have been an off night and they are still the band I've loved since high school. Regardless, I won't be seeing them again because I want to keep the image of circa Brand New in my mind. Read more. Report as inappropriate. Brand New has been one of my favorite bands since I was an angsty middle schooler, some 11 years ago.

They have come a long way since their first album, Your Favorite Weapon, in and as they've matured so has their music. With four albums to date and each getting progressively better , it was no surprise that their best selling album was their most recent. Frontman, Jesse Lacey actually stated that this was the first time he had ever seen the Golden Gate Bridge!!! So with this being my very first Brand New show and there being a 5 year gap between their last album, I wasn't sure to expect.

It was one of the greatest concerts of my life. Not only do they sound exactly like their records, they are incredible musicians. Aside from a few short anecdotes and introductions, Jesse didn't talk much and instead focused mainly on the music. From "Seventy Times 7" to "Sink", they played a good mix of old and "new".

If you were a fan of Brand New back in the day, or only know their more recent stuff I strongly suggest seeing them live. Brand New is a must-see for any fan.

What I love about them is that their style seemed to change along with my music tastes for the whole 10 years I was a die-hard fan. I saw a majority of their shows in the Devil and God-era, and the performances stayed true to the sound on the album, but much more passionate and personal live. In between albums, there was never a more exhilarating moment as when they debuted a new song, or one they were working on that would remain golden in its elusive demo glory. Even better if you had previously obsessively scouted those demos beforehand and saw them live, knowing the words.

That album is just perfection and it may or may not be rare to hear the majority of those songs live today. I recently read that they are working on new music, but backtracking to the style of Deja Entendu and Devil and God- so if you love the sound of those albums, do not miss their show- and be blessed to hear any new songs or demos live.

It was a great concert. There was so much happening, the energy, the lights, the setlist, everything. I don't know where to begin. Maybe just with the beginning, when I came in i felt a certain vibe, there were so many different people, old, young, boys, girls, punk etc. I don't think I wouldnt have hung out with most of those people if it wasnt for the concert.

Brand New really connected us. The one thing i really missed was the communication with the audience. Jesse never really made any conversation between the songs, the songs were played after eachother very fastly with barely any pauses, it kept the energy alive but it was also a bit unpersonal. As expected, Brand New was incredible. This was my first Brand New concert even though I have been a huge fan ever since Deja Entendu came out, and boy, have I been missing out.

I hope to go to another one before they call it quits. It seems crazy to me because I've been to other concerts where the musicians incorporate a lot of screaming, but they tend to hold back so that their voices aren't completely spent for the next set of shows, but Jesse screamed his heart out with no regard for future shows.

It was amazing. It's so hard to put into words how incredible this band is live. Jesse's emotion and heart he puts into singing is simply uncomparable to any other artist I've seen.

They beginned with playing 2 new songs before playing a number of hits off of Deja Entendu. If Brand New is coming near your city on this tour, its an absolute necessity to see them if you like post hardcore and emo music. I absolutely adore Brand New. They have been one of my favorite bands since I was 11 years old and I don't forsee that ever changing.

Their show last night was absolutely amazing, it's everything that I hoped it would be for the past 13 years. Brand New live is and always will be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I have seen them twice now and both times they did not fail at delivering their absolute best. They have some of the most loyal die hard fans, me being one of them.

There's something intimate about going to a show where every single person in the crowd sings every single word to every single song. I absolutely loved it, I had the best time and I can't wait to see them again! Brand New for life!
